"Gnome-Infested" Walnut Burl End Table. This is a solid walnut burl cross section end table, 40” X 23”, 2.5” thick, 26.5” tall, with a knot tear-out adorned with two tiny gnomes in a mushroom forest.

I've been making resin inlay tables for a couple years now - this was my first try with an end grain burl. While flattening it a chunk of knot tore out (and thankfully didn't hit me). Most builders would simply fill it in with either matching fill or black resin. I decided to have a little fun and put a little mushroom forest and a couple of gnomes in there. I decided to not put an inlay on this table; any inlay would ruin that natural burl.
